Great features empower you to build a healthier life

How Live Connector Works

When you enter your treatment program, your Recovery Team will help you set up your smart phone to run the Live Connector app. Once you’re up and running, you can choose from the following set of recovery support tools to help you every step of the way.

You don’t have to go it alone. Reaching out to others for help and encouragement is an important key to your recovery. This feature allows you to connect instantly — with video, text or voice calls— to the people in your recovery support network. During set-up, your Recovery Coach, or treatment program staff member will help you identify the people who will be most helpful to you in your recovery journey. Important note: For emergency services you should still dial 911 from a phone.

Some days are harder than others. When you need a boost, you can simply tap “Mood Boosters” to get suggestions for combating negative thinking or feelings of discouragement, or to be reminded of activities that help you relax or feel good. During set-up you’ll be asked to identify the activities that can bring you pleasure or benefit your mood.

Stress is a part of life. You can choose how you respond. When your stress levels become overwhelming, it’s important to have good stress relievers that help you calm your mind and your body. Just tap “Stress Reducers” to hear suggestions that are proven to help with stress, like guided meditation and deep breathing.

Build healthy habits — one day at a time. A healthy, well-rested body and mind will serve you well in recovery and in life. Eating healthy foods and getting enough exercise and sleep can raise your serotonin and dopamine levels and improve your overall well-being. Just tap “Healthy Habits” when you need tips for making healthy choices so that you can feel your best every day.

Journal

Better out than in! Journaling is an important part of recovery. It helps you get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper or, in this case, the screen. Just tap “Journal” when you need to vent about your feelings, your struggles with recovery, to celebrate your successes — or all three.

Jot it down! Tap “Notes” when you want to capture a quick thought or want to remind yourself of something to discuss with your Recovery Coach or physician. Notes are saved in the Live Connector app and can also be sent to a person or people in your support network.

How are you doing? Sometimes you’ll need help assessing where you are in your recovery. By periodically answering the questions in the Self-Assessment tool you will see your progress over time. The tool can also help you get a rough idea if you are at risk of relapse. When you give permission to share your Self-Assessment results with your sponsor, Recovery Coach, and other care providers, they can better understand how to support your recovery.

Know where to turn. You can tap “Resources” for a list of local services and resources available to you as a person who suffers from Substance Use Disorder. From support centers to employment agencies, there are many places for you to turn for help.
